I love to have bed time cuddles with my mom. :)

I went to the river again today! I went with my Mom and her friend Emily. It was my first time meeting Emily and she was very nice. I think she really liked me, but Mom said she loves all animals, that’s why she wanted Emily to meet me. At the river today, there were lots of dogs off of their leashes. My Mom gets really nervous when other dogs aren’t on their leashes because sometimes I am mean to other dogs because I don’t know how to act. So many dogs that Mom and I lost count came up to me today not on their leashes and I was nice to all of them! Mom held me close every time one came up so I wouldn’t panic, but even though I had Mom’s help of acting nicely, Mom was still so proud of how I acted. Mom said she is proud of my progress of not attacking other dogs. I hope one day I am able to make lots of new friends because I won’t feel like I need to hurt other dogs. My Mom knows it’s not my fault that I act this way, she knows it’s because I was mistreated when I was little and was never taught the appropriate way to act. I’m so happy I got lucky enough to have a Mom that understands me and will help me overcome these challenges. 

I went to the river with my mom and her friend Rachel last week and I had such a nice time. I’m still too scared to swim, but I like to stick my toes in, jump from rock to rock, and lay down in the shallow water when I get hot. I hope my mom takes me back soon. :)

It’s still such a battle every time I try, so unfortunately I have figured out no tricks or tips. :( At this point whenever her nails need to be trimmed, I just do two a day until I’ve got them all done. It takes a long time, but it’s the only way it ever gets done besides taking her to the vet to get them done! ugh, it frustrates me so much…

I went on a 9 mile hike yesterday with my Mom and our friend Mary Claire. I had a lot of fun and we ate lunch on this cool porch where I could see the whole world!

My Mom went out of town this weekend so she sent me back to boot camp for a few days. My trainer Drew is really proud of my progress. Drew and I just worked on being nice to other dogs and not looking at them or approaching them when they are scary. One day when I was outside playing with some people that were helping take care of me, I ignored all the dogs that were trying to cage fight me and just played with the handlers. Everybody was so proud of me for that. I love making people happy and proud of me, especially my Mom. My Mom said that since I have done so well in private classes, we can start going to group classes next week! I’m excited because I like to make new friends. Mom also said that if I do a good job with group classes we can start doing agility together in April! I’m so happy that my Mom and Drew are teaching me to be nice to people and other dogs; it makes my life much less stressful. 

I brought her a mole that I killed for her for breakfast. Mom said thank you for her present, but she doesn’t eat meat. I just love my Mom and wanted to give her a present. I think maybe Grandpa ate the mole because he took it outside and it didn’t come back. That’s okay because I love Grandpa too.
